My name is Carlos Trevino Jr. I began my career as a land surveyor while serving in the U.S. Army for four years. As an Artillery Land Surveyor, I received the Army Commendation for extending accurate survey control, which helped defeat the enemy in Operation Desert Storm. During my career in the Army, I learned how to perform accurately with attention to detail my duties with exceptional results and to become a good communicator. I also gained knowledge in conflict resolution skills, and became a respected leader amongst my peers as non-commissioned officer. Later, I decided to return to civilian life to further my education and career.
During my civilian career, while working my way up the ranks from a land survey rod man to Survey Crew Chief, I worked for several successful companies in southeast Michigan, where I conducted all types of survey operations, while working full time, I earned my Associates Degree, and Certification in Auto-CAD from Oakland Community College, Auburn Hills, MI. From there, I worked for the State of Michigan where I gained knowledge and excelled in the design field while working as an Engineering Technician for the Subdivision Improvement Department of Oakland County.
Later I decided to move out east to work for the Army Corps of Engineers (Philadelphia District). There I learned to become a Hydrographic Surveyor. This survey work supported the maintenance of intracoastal water ways and beach replenishment projects. When working on these hydrographic survey projects I learned how to use specialized hydrographic surveying equipment.
With my wife’s General Motors job transferring her to Ohio, we decided to return to the Midwest, with the shale gas boom in Ohio and Pennsylvania I worked with some of the leading companies and corporations in the area as a Survey Crew Chief conducting survey operations such as boundary, topographic, construction layout, as-built, pipeline route and well unit surveys.
Following this, I joined two partners to create a company called Accurate Land Surveying, LLC. The company became very successful. With the success came the opportunity for me to sale my portion of the Company to one of the other owners. Which I took advantage of and returned to work in design at a local utility company.
Sometime later I was introduced to Mark Baird through a veterans group I belong to online. When he explained his concept to me I thought it was a great opportunity for local veterans as well as myself. I have always wanted to help veterans more than just donating to their cause. Giving veterans a chance for employment is close to my heart being that my family has always served in the U.S. military including, my uncles, son and nephew. My goal is to give the customer an amazing product, and giving local veterans the possibility to help support themselves and their families.
